Am-B-Care Ambulance Service
Serving Western Massachusetts
In an effort to recognize our employees achievements within the company and the community, we will post notable efforts here on a regular basis. Any employee wishing to contribute material should email ideas to thepulse@ambcare.com.
AmBCare is proud to serve Cooley-Dickinson Hospital. As their new neighbors, we are honored to be associated with one of the region's finest facilities. The hospital's highly competent staff has overseen the develpoment of a new advanced joint replacement facility and state of the art operating room suites. Please take the opportunity to visit them online at www.cooley-dickinson.org
When the clock strikes twelve and the calendar turns to July 1, 2007, Am B Care Chief Operating Officer Robert Chapdelaine will make a radio transmission in the City of Northampton: " Am-B -Care Medic One is on the air and in service to the City and Citizens of Northampton". This simple announcement will signify to the Northampton Public Safety Dispatch, that Am-B-Care Ambulance Service is now ready to respond to any and all emergencies that should befall the city of Northampton and surrounding towns.  This event will kick off an innovative Public-Private EMS Partnership between our company and the Northampton Fire Department that has been months in the making.

This unique concept calls for the NFD and Am-B-Care to work and train side by side to implement an operational plan that will have the two entities working together seamlessly. Am-B-Care employees have attended training classes with the NFD, Northampton Police and the Staff of Cooley Dickinson Hospital to be proficient and acclimated to the EMS environment in and around the city. This integrated process will result in quicker and more efficient emergency medical services than ever before.

Another innovation that enhances the Northampton - Am-B-Care partnership is their method of dispatching. Am-B-Care has presented the Northampton Public Service Dispatch with the ability to see on a computer screen, the exact location of all ambulances and command vehicles on duty within the city. This high tech method of GPS assisted dispatching, will allow a 911 operator to determine which ambulance in the city is closest to an emergency and to then strategically send out the call. This tool could save time on calls where minutes could significantly impact the outcome.

Along with Am-B-Care's dedication to supplying the City with the best available equipment, Am-B-Care brings with them the best available personnel as well. Am-B-Care management feels very strongly that it has assembled a regional All Star group of paramedics to staff its ambulances. Am-B-Care employed a very thorough and aggressive recruitment, hiring and clearance process that included the regional medical director and the Chief and senior staff of the Northampton Fire Department.

Am-B-Care Ambulance Service will fast become a familiar sight on the streets of Northampton. On the side of the ambulances will be written: "In Service to the City of Northampton". This brief mission statement says it all. Our hope is that Am-B-Care's presence will provide a source of comfort to the citizens and assurance that we are here to take care of you.
