Advanced Life Support
Our advanced life support (ALS) vehicles are staffed with two state-certified paramedics who have the highest degree of advanced training available for inter-facility transport. In addition, our advanced life support vehicles include the latest ventilator equipment for patients requiring ventilator support during transport. Every paramedic is fully trained in:
 
· Advanced airway management 
· IV therapy 
· EKG monitoring
· Advanced cardiac life support, including
  Pediatric
· Cardiac defibrillation and pacing
· Medication administration and monitoring


 
Basic Life Support
Our basic life support (BLS) vehicles are staffed with two state-certified emergency medical technicians (EMT’s), who are trained to care for the injured or ill immediately upon arrival and during transportation to the hospital. The EMT has the emergency skills to assess a patient’s condition and manage basic respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies using such techniques as pulse oximetry and autotrack defibrillation.
Certification and standards include:

· National Safety Council
· ADA compliancy 
· Massachusetts Ambulance association 
· National Association of EMTs
 
All Am-B-Care emergency vehicles are fully licensed and exceed state requirements. When mobile, every ambulance is in constant contact with our Communications Command Centers via a system consisting of VHF and UHF radios and Nextel communications equipment. One call puts our emergency care team into immediate action. We take pride in our ability to respond to every emergency need as promptly and efficiently as possible.


Chair Van Transportation
Our chair van attendants are CPR certified by the American Heart Association. Our chair vans meet all federal guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Chair van services are available Monday through Saturday from 6 am to 10 pm. Other times are available by making an appointment 24 hours in advance in most instances. Our fully equipped fleet of non-emergency chair van transportation includes modern, hydraulically controlled chair vans designed to service the special needs of our customers with care and comfort. Am-B-Care routinely transports ambulatory and wheelchair customers to a variety of settings, including:

· Hospital discharge  
· Long and short-term transitional care  facilities
· Skilled nursing care centers
· Dialysis/radiation therapy clinics
· Geriatric day care centers
· Diagnostic imaging facilities
· Physician office visits
· Rehabilitation centers
